Odyssey of the Ballet Fairies, Ages 7–9

A beginner/elementary level ballet class which builds a foundation for strong technique and training. We practice at the barre and learn basic steps in the center while gaining an understanding behind correct technique. Students enjoy rehearsing creative ballet vignettes and original creative ballets which incorporate their ballet steps from class, along with mime and storytelling. They also are given ample improvisation opportunities to explore, discover and create their own movement.

Dancing Goddesses of the Ballet, Ages 8–13

A very special creative ballet class with classroom technique combined with studies of goddesses from around the world. Students create a whirlwind movement collage using improvisation, creative costume design, beautiful fabric as props, and, most of all, the imagination as we explore the empowering characteristics of each goddess and their place in the world of mythology.

Handmaidens of the Ballet, Ages 9–13

This intermediate/advanced ballet class will offer strength training, stamina building and dancing challenges which augment a continuation of careful technique and quality of movement under Miss Bailay’s watchful eye. Students will present dances and new ballet works in a variety of choreographic styles ranging from strongly classical, to modern ballet, to neoclassical ballet, drawing from repertoire and original works by Miss Bailay. This season will culminate with a presentation of the neoclasscial ballet, In a Rehearsal Room. Students may opt to take one or two classes a week.

  Next class TBA

Choreography Circle, Ages 7–13

Join Miss Bailay in a discovery of your own potential as we choose a theme for your very own Solo. In this exciting improvisation class, we study your own unique impulses for movement and then structure them into a movement collage. The creative process used is independent of music. The satisfying results reflect your individuality and we will give an informal showing at the end of the process. Offered to all levels for ages 7-13.
